I have spent the last couple decades traveling throughout the United States and internationally as a speaker, workshop leader, trainer, and storyteller. I consider myself blessed to have the opportunity to work alongside corporate executives, entrepreneurs, school teachers, pastors, salespeople, and teenagers.
On a personal level, I enjoy pretty much anything outside. Soccer, tennis, hiking, playing on the lake. You name it, if it’s outside, I enjoy it.
Oh…and I hold to the belief that ice cream and coffee are proof that God exists and loves us very much.
Four of my biggest passions are in the picture of the people in funny hats. I have a very cool wife and three incredibly fun kids. You’ll usually find us near the water or at one of their sporting events.
From a vocational standpoint, few things thrill me more than helping someone do what they’ve been called to do – and do it more effectively.
Most often, that fleshes itself out in the area of communication. As a speaker, trainer, and author of several books, communication is simply what I do. Helping people do it better is a privilege and a joy.
I am also passionate about helping people connect their faith to every part of life. Too much of life is compartmentalized. Life is fullest, most enjoyable, and truly successful when we live not just a “balanced” life – but a deeply integrated life. You can find out more about this piece at my blog.
Imagine the intersection of effective communication, increased job satisfaction, brain science, and personal systems. That’s where you would find me.
Not that I know all there is to know in these areas.
It’s more that all four are areas I am constantly studying and seeking to improve in. My coaching, speaking, and writing weaves them together.
In addition to coaching individuals and training companies, I have spent the last 15+ years a facilitator and coach for the SCORRE Conference, an intensive, public speaking workshop developed by Dynamic Communicators International. (Note: If you need to focus specifically on public speaking…get to this conference. It’s the best training there is. Period.)
In case you’re interested…I hold a Cum Laude degree in Psychology and a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling.
I am a Certified Professional Behavior Analyst (CPBA) and utilize the DISC Assessment Tool. This is a tool that is helpful for improving communication within a company/team, identifying areas of stress (work-related and personal), helping streamline the hiring process, improving managerial effectiveness, and boosting sales efficiency/effectiveness, just to name a few.
The DISC is taken online and generates an in-depth report tailored specifically to the individual. The DISC can be taken by an individual, a team, or an entire organization. The level of debriefing and follow-up coaching is tailored to fit your needs.
To find out more about this tool, see this overview.
